Yes. More than one source of funding is permitted to meet the financial support requirements. An F-1 Financial Affidavit Form must be completed for each sponsor who submits a bank statement on your behalf.
Unfortunately, financial aid is limited for F-1 international students as they are not eligible for U.S. federal and state funding. As far as we know, scholarships are the only type of financial aid that MSU Denver can provide to our F-1 international students.
We encourage students to pursue a variety of financial aid resources to maximize their chance of getting awarded. These can include institutional aid through MSU Denver and external, private scholarship opportunities.
Yes, MSU Denver does have scholarships that international students can apply for.
To apply for scholarships through MSU Denver, you must first be admitted to the university. Then you must complete and submit the MSU Denver Scholarship Application. Based on the information provided on this application, the Office of Financial Aid will match you to any available scholarships that you are eligible for.
However, we cannot predict if you would qualify and be awarded any scholarships. Our institutional scholarships are extremely limited for international students and are not guaranteed. You would likely still need to cover the majority of your educational expenses, even if awarded.
Unfortunately, you can only submit the MSU Denver Scholarship Application after you have been admitted.
Since financial documentation is required before an admission decision can be made, you will not be able to use any potential institutional financial aid to complete your application.
If you need assistance to meet the financial requirement, you may want to pursue private, external scholarships. However, please be aware that it may be difficult to secure the full amount only through scholarship awards.
